Action: Contact Your Senator to Ask for $60 Million in Funding for the Lung Cancer Research Project

We have an important opportunity to ask Congress to increase funding for the Lung Cancer Research Program (LCRP) at the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP). As members of the broad lung cancer community, LUNGevity and many other lung cancer organizations have come together with a collective ask for $60 million dollars to fund the Lung Cancer Research Program.

To make this ask a reality, our lung cancer community needs to continue to reach out to policymakers to share our stories and experiences and explain why we need more funding for lung cancer research. Using this platform, please send letters to your senators and to ask them to sign a forthcoming Dear Colleague letter from Senator Jack Reed requesting $60 million for the Lung Cancer Research Program in the Fiscal Year 2023 Department of Defense appropriations bill.

For additional background on the LCRP and CDMRP you can watch this webinar.

Thank you for your continued advocacy in support of lung cancer research!
